Prevalence of ADHD
ADHD is one of the most common neurobehavioral disorders in children. Here are the facts:
- More than 15 million Americans are estimated to be affected by ADHD.
- In 2007, over 5 million or 9.5% of school-aged children in the US were reported by their parents to have ever been diagnosed with ADHD.
- It's estimated that 4.4% or 10 million US adults aged 18 to 44 have ADHD. This estimate was based on a survey of 3,199 adults aged 18 to 44 and applied to the full US population aged 18 and over.
