ADHD and the Family
Research shows that ADHD tends to run in families. If one or more of your children has ADHD, you or your spouse may exhibit signs of ADHD as well. That's because ADHD may be inheritable.
One study of 73 children and adolescents with ADHD with 264 first-degree relatives found if a child was diagnosed with ADHD, there was a 29% chance a parent had ADHD and a 21% chance a sibling had ADHD.
