Vyvanse Dosing Information

Vyvanse comes in six different dosage strengths:

  • 20 mg
  • 30 mg
  • 40 mg
  • 50 mg
  • 60 mg
  • 70 mg

This provides your child's doctor with the ability to adjust the dose of Vyvanse until it is right for your child.

When it comes to treating ADHD in children, every child is different. It may require time to determine which dose of Vyvanse is right for your child.

Making dosing adjustments is a common step when starting any ADHD medication, and you should feel comfortable talking to the doctor about how your child is doing while treating ADHD symptoms with Vyvanse.

How should Vyvanse be taken?

  • Take Vyvanse once a day in the morning.
  • Vyvanse can be taken with or without food.
  • From time to time, your child’s doctor may stop Vyvanse treatment for a while to check ADHD symptoms.
  • Your child’s doctor may do regular checks of the blood, heart, and blood pressure while your child is taking Vyvanse. Children should have their height and weight checked often while taking Vyvanse. Vyvanse treatment may be stopped if a problem is found during these check-ups.
  • If your child takes too much Vyvanse or overdoses, call your doctor or poison control center right away, or get emergency treatment.

The following information is also important for parents and caregivers to keep in mind:

  • Do not share Vyvanse with anyone else.
  • Take Vyvanse exactly as prescribed by the doctor.
  • Vyvanse should be stored in a safe place at room temperature.
